THE CRUX SERIES
BIG SKY, BIG LINES AND 30 YEARS IN A WHITE HAZE
WITH
DAN EGAN
The Crux Series is a collection of interviews with mountain experts that have a wealth of knowledge about each of the peaks in our glasses. In support of the launch of our Big Sky glass featuring Lone Mountain in Montana, we connect with hall of fame skier Dan Egan. Dan's professional ski career has influenced generations of extreme skiers and snowboarders from around the world.
Growing up in Boston, MA Dan and his brother John Egan set the tone for extreme skiing in the US in the early 80's. His passion and talent for skiing were recognized early by the movie icon Warren Miller who helped skyrocket Dan's career. Dan's entrepreneurial spirit drove him and his brother to carve out their own lines all over the world. Dan is a true legend in the ski world and continues to push the sport forward today with his Steep Camps at Big Sky as well as lots of other exciting projects that we get into with our interview.
Dan is also celebrating the launch of his and co-author Eric Wilbur's new book Thirty Years in a White Haze, where he recounts some of the most challenging experiences in his life and how he continues to work through them even to this day.
This Crux Series is in video format, which is new for us. Sit back, pour yourself a beer and listen to our 40 minute conversation with Dan to dive into the history of extreme skiing history, ski bum life, yesterday to today at Big Sky, 30 Years in a White Haze, moving through trauma and looking forward to what’s next. We hope you enjoy our conversation with Dan as much as we did.
