We are a team of friends that together have over 30 years of experience in product design, engineering and marketing who live and work between Camas, WA, Bend and Portland, Oregon.
We explore the mountains, coast, trails and rivers as much as possible and the PNW is our home and our playground. With a great team of local suppliers and partners we are able to be a strong local business that prides ourselves on being a great partner and giving back whenever we can well beyond our One Percent for the Planet partnership.
Matt Capozzi and Nic Ramirez share the role of Co-Founder and lead all of our product planning, design and manufacturing. Leigh Capozzi, also a Co-Founder has moved on to lead the Marketing team at Protect Our Winters.
Kendrick VanEe, our marketing and brand expert leads all of our marketing, advertising and partnership efforts and drives North forward every day.
We launched North Drinkware and The Oregon Pint launched on Kickstarter on February 1, 2015. The project goal was $15,000, which was planned to fund our production tooling, equipment and the first large run of glasses. The momentum of the campaign was blistering. The Oregon Pint surpassed $15,000 in 5 hours and 15 minutes, 200% funded in 28 hours, 2000% funded in five days, 5000 backers at 24 days and the campaign closed at 3,543% funded by 5,620 backers totaling $531,581. North Drinkware was selected as a Kickstarter staff pick, and was featured in dozens of local, national and international press including The New York Times, Outside Magazine, Cool Hunting, Uncrate, Slate, Transworld Business, OregonLive/The Oregonian, Portland Business Journal, Portland Tribune, Willamette Weekly, among others.
Needless to say, the launch and Kickstarter was quite a ride! We are so thankful for all of the support from our backers, media, craft beer and glass blowing communities at large for helping spread the word and bringing The Oregon Pint to life.
In 2018 we worked to expand our offering and again turned to Kickstarter. We launched The Mt. Hood Blanket manufactured by Pendleton Woolen Mills to give our customers a new way to bring the mountains home in May of 2018. It was amazing to see this project get 100% funded in 2hrs. and 30 days later to break $100,000.
The launch of North has been incredibly tied to our backers and the mountain loving community as a whole. We're excited to continue to expand ways we can all bring the mountains home.
