We launched our brand on Kickstarter in 2015 with an idea. Now 10 years later we're stronger than ever and have expanded our line to include over 30 peaks from around the world.
Our founders Nic and Matt were looking for a creative outlet and landed on a big idea that blended some of their favorite things: Local craft beer and spirits + Love for the mountains + Product innovation + Premium design + All things made in the USA.
That night over beers in Portland, OR, the concept of North Drinkware was born.
The year it all started. We introduced the idea of a mountain glass to the world on Kickstarter with The Oregon Pint featuring Mt. Hood and quickly followed up with The Washington Pint featuring Mt. Rainier that same year.
We added Tumblers to our line and introduced the iconic Half Dome in California's Yosemite National Park and The Maroon Bells just outside of Aspen to our collection.
By the spring of 2017 our patents were issued for our original set of designs. This year we also added Camel's Hump in Vermont and the iconic Tetons of Wyoming to the line.
We returned back to Kickstarter in the spring of 2018 to expand our line. We launched The Mt. Hood Blanket featuring the USGS geology map of Mt. Hood. Manufactured In Oregon by the legendary Pendleton Woolen Mills. Our second, successful Kickstarter campaign delivered new ways to bring the mountains home.
We first added The Mt. Rainier Blanket to our line and then followed up with glasses for Mt. Baker, Mt. Shasta and Mt. Washington in New Hampshire. This is also the year we launched our snowboard collaboration with Salomon Snowboards.
We added the iconic Lake Tahoe splitting California and Nevada to the line in addition to our first international peak featuring Mt. Fuji in Japan.
We add Big Sky in Montana, Denali (still the prefered local name) in Alaska and Pacific City and the Willamete Valley in Oregon. This year we also added The Maroon Bells Blanket to the line.
We added The Wasatch glass for Utah along with The Pikes Peak and Longs Peak glasses for Colorado. The blanket line expanded to include The Yosemite Valley Blanket. This is also the year of our Smith and DDC collabs.
We worked again with Pendleton Woolen Mills to manufacture a line of custom spa Towels. We also added 4 more Japanese peaks, The Adirondacks, The Smoky Mountains, Mt. Adams, and Mt. Elbert. It was a big year for North.
From the deepest lake in the US The Crater Lake glass came to life. We also added Mammoth Mountain , Sun Valley and the icon of The San Francisco Peaks in Arizona. The big push this year was our new category of Unbreakable Outdoor Cups that now allow you bring the mountains everywhere.
We've started the year with a re-launch of our Heavy Bottom glasses and a new Colorado glass comes out next week. We have more Outdoor Cups and many, many more peaks in the works. Stay tuned for what comes next!
